Getting Into Summer

If you know anything about me, I'm usually busy.
I've been this way my entire life.
Even when I was little I was involved in so much; dance, cheerleaing, church, social stuff and more.
This continued into high school and college. Working, sorority, gym time, clubs, and much  more.
And when I got married and got a big girl job nothing really changed with my business.
I've had a full time job, part-time job, church activities, cake baking, working out/training and much more for the past two years.
I wouldn't change any of this!
I'm very blessed to have a busy/great life!

I woke up my first day off of school about a week ago and had no idea what to do. I looked at the Mr. and said, "I don't have any plans...I don't have to be somewhere." I felt out of place. I felt weird. Then I thought about what the Mr. said to me, "LA, you've wanted a break for a while, just enjoy it!"
He's right. I have wanted a break. But I guess when I wanted a break I didn't think about what that would be like.  I'm starting to be okay with this break.
I've found many things to do. Lunch dates, tubing fun, rest, organizing, taking pictures, party planning, and so much more.
I need to slow down sometimes, that's what this break has taught me.
It's okay to have alot of activities in my life, but it's okay to just be still and rest.
Just wanted to share my little life lesson with you guys today. :)

The Mr. and I had a great day today!
(It's really neat being home together, we haven't gotten sick of each other! :))
We usually go to our local Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings, well we remembered that it is open on Tuesday afternoons too! So we headed to check out what veggies were available! We were off on a little date!

Then we headed to a local diner/bakery for an early dinner! And came home with these sweets for later! :)
We love that there are so many unique places in our town.
Locally owned and grown is always the best!

When we got home our pups wanted to play!

Please excuse the fact that I don't have any make up on! But Ethel Bug looks cute!
They love to play fetch in the back yard! Ethel just runs along...Lucy doesn't let her the toy much!
Waiting on Mr. to throw the toy!

Overall I'm enjoyin' summer and this break I've been blessed with. I know come fall, I'll be begging asking for another break.

Happy Tuesday y'all!

Tubing Adventures

Our tubing adventure was awesome!
SO fun!

The Mr. goes down the river all the time with our friend T. And I've gone once with T and J. Well our close friends M and J wanted to go down the river today!
And we had a blast!!

The boys did all the dropping off of the cars and picking up Subway! And then they got us and we headed down the river!

Our large tube wouldn't fit in the car, so we had to put it on top. But we didn't have any rope. So we had to use an extension cord! ha!
M said I was holding the "kite" down! ha!

Arriving at the river with the goods in hand!

Lunch is needed with all the hard work you do while tubing! ha! :)

The boys got us girls in and ready!
Using our cup holders for their beverages! ha!

Then we were off!
The river has small rapids that are just enough to cool you off but not knock you out of your tube!
A little bit into our trip there is a rope swing.
Here is the Mr. about to go for his first swing!
(Notice that us girls are just watching this activity!)

WHOOOHOOOO!
Great form! :)

Next up...J!
WHOOOOHOOO!
So fun!

We are so blessed to have such great friends! Our day was filled with great talks about the past and future! And many many laughs, as usual! We ended our day with yummy hotdogs and tots!

What a great way to start out our Memorial Day Weekend!

Tubing and Doggie Love

Today we are heading down the river...such fun times to be had.
The Mr. started preparing yesterday.
Cheap fun!
More pictures to come later. :)

Since I've been home I've been resting alot. Guess catching up for the past 180 days of waking up at 4:30am. I have the sweetest doggies who sleep with me.

I know, I know, I'm obessed with my pups. It's going to be out of control dangerous when we have babies. O well. :)

So I've gotten a VERY little stir crazy, glad we are getting out today. But yesterday the Mr. took me for a drive. And we happened to pass by my favorite places...YOFORIA.
SOOO good!

I've come to the conclusion...there is NOTHING on TV at all during the day. It's all so boring...expect The Price Is Right! The Mr. likes to pause it and have us guess the prices. It's fun!

I need to find a pool asap!

Happy Saturday!

Wedding and Storms

Last weekend we went to a sweet college friend's wedding! It was such a fun night! The Mr. spoiled me and got me a new dress for the occasion! :)

Please excuse the iPhone pics.
Hands down I have the most handsome husband!
He is always so good at matching me!

Isn't this the COOLEST wedding favor ever?!?! We had this done at the reception. I'm supposed to be holding a cake and the Mr. is scuba diving! ha!

Our prayers have been focused on all the people hurt and affected by the storms. We had a little scare last night...it was the left overs from the big storms in the mid west. The Mr. was at church and I was home alone with the pups. It was scary. (We are watching my MIL's pup...she is the golden one.) So here we are in the bathroom:

(Please excuse the bad make up! ha!)

It's the weekend!
What are your Memorial Day plans?
We are floating down the river, relaxing, and cooking out! :)

Welcome!

Welcome to our new spot!

I was sad to leave our other spot.

Protecting ourselves is important though.

The Mr. and I have had a wonderful week!
My sweet sis came to visit us last night! We had a yummy dinner!
(Made by the Mr. of course!)
We watched this:
via
It was horrible. I love both Anne and Jake...but this movie wasn't good. O well.
At least we had Modern Family to watch afterwards...which by the way is my FAVORITE show! SO funny!

So for you friends who follow me on Twitter, you probably saw my tweets about getting my hair done this morning. Well, I was nervous to say the least...and still a bit. I got a Keratin treatment done. The girl that did it had to reassure me like a million times that my hair won't fall out. ha! I was pleased with how it turned out...now I'm wanting to see it when I wear it naturally curly.

I also got the privilege of holding my sweet friend K's baby today! She needed me to watch him for a little bit...I was excited that she asked me! Sweet L slept the entire time, and it was just amazing to hold that sweet little boy!! I just daydreamed the entire time of what it will be like when I have babies. :)

Speaking of babies...it's summer break and I can nap if I want! ha!  My baby Ethel loves napping with me! :)

Well friends, I'm glad to be back with a new blog...hope you enjoy! :)

Rado Tuesday

Summer is fun!

I finally have had time to upload pictures...I need to back at taking tons of pictures! But here are a few.
The Mr and I at L's 30th birthday!
Sweet baby Ethel! I'm loving being at home with her and Lucy!
This was taken last weekend...I have the sweetest dogs ever!!!

Ethel and Lucy are loving the backyard these days...yes, it's hot, but they love playing fetch!

Little E watching her big sister!

So since things have gone down with my mom, the Mr. and I have just grown stronger and closer. I'm very thankful to have such a supportive husband. He is a great man who wants to fix things and make things better, but he also knows that this is best for me and us right now. Relying on God has been key in this whole situation.

I'm looking forward to spending lots of quality time with my Mr. this summer! It was a busy school year and I'm ready to spend time with him!

Recognition Day!

Like I promised...I have posts with pictures!!

We have a recognition day for our sweet 5th graders before they leave us for middle school!

It's a fun day and a great way for their parents to be included in on the celebration!
I will miss this sweet girl!

E and H are cousins so the family asked me to be apart of the family picture!
This girl is such a DIVA but sweet!
She was our STAR student...always helping others and wanting to learn more!

Here is my 2010-2011 class!
Such great memories!

Today was my first official day of summer break! It was such a good day! Started out with a homemade smoothie by my Mr, Zumba, grocery shopping, couples massages and homemade taco night!

It's going to be a great summer!

Summer!

Summer
began this afternoon for me!
WHOOHOO!
Much needed.

My Maymester class I was signed up for was cancelled. It's good and bad at the same time. Wanted to get those 3 hours done, but I really do need to rest and relax. Six hours is still good to complete. So I'm free until my June class and online class begin!

So I moved into my new classroom and it's all summerazied. I'll be eager to get in it and orgainze it for the fall, but I promised myself I wouldn't do that until July. I need a break.

Friends for dinner tonight, wedding tomorrow, bff time on Sunday!
It's a great first weekend of SUMMER!

P.S. I promise to update with pictures. soon.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!

It's the
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!
WHOOOHOOO!
SUMMER IS HERE!

I cannot believe that I've completed my second year of teaching!
I've learned so much since stepping off that stage at graduation:

I've learned that everyday is not perfect teaching. Some days are super hard, some are so fun, and some are just plain emotional.

It's okay to get emotionally attached to your students, I believe it makes you a better teacher.

It's okay when a lesson doesn't go the way you planned...there is always tomorrow.

It's okay if you are having a bad day, just try to smile for your kids...even though they totally know.

It's okay if you don't have the best data...it's what you are doing with the students that counts more. Growth is the most important...not being number one on the list.

It's okay for your classroom to get messy...I'm a SUPER clean freak and I've learned that when you have 25, 10 year olds it's not going to be clean all the time.

It's great to make friendships at school...some say not to get close to those you work with, but that's made it so much more amazing for me.

It's great to take from others expertise and share yours!

It's okay if you are cheesy! It comes with the job...just as long as you NEVER wear apples on any item of your clothing!

It's okay to cry when reading a picture book to your students...they may want to cry too.

It's okay to give LOTS and LOTS of hugs to the kiddos! They need them and so do I! :)

I'm so sad to leave the big 5th grade world, but I'm SO excited about what God has in store for me with the younger kiddos! I've learned so much and am so grateful.
I truly teach at the BEST school in America!

SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!

Exciting News:

So, I have some exciting news!!!

I'm changing grades next year!!!!!!!

I'll be teaching 2nd grade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's my dream grade to teach! It was my favorite when I student taught! I just love that age kid, the curriculum and all the fun stuff you get to do with the students!

I'll be working with three AMAZING teachers! They all have taught a while but are still young and have alot of great experience! I got to meet with them yesterday and they are so welcoming and so helpful! I'm so excited! They are pretty much the most solid team in the our building, so I'm really excited/nervous to be apart of their team.

Brings this year to such a wonderful end!
I've had a great time teaching 5th grade. It was a great starting point for me. I learned ALOT while teaching 5th grade. My heart is just with younger kids, but I'm glad I had a chance to really confirm that.

Weekend In Bullets:

I know I mentioned taking pictures...well I didn't. But our weekend was still worth documenting...just in bullets.

  • Relay for Life was so fun! The Mr. and I were the only couple from school who didn't have a baby there...it was too funny!
  • Trying on the bridesmaid dress for my best friend L's wedding was so fun and the dress is just BEAUTIFUL! I cannot wait to wear it and be apart of their VERY special day in DISNEY!
  • I could talk to my best friends for hours and hours!
  • Impromptu plans can work out to be fun!
  • My husband can cook!
  • We are so excited about joining the new church we have been attending for the past two months!
  • Yoforia is still my favorite place!
  • Giving gifts are one of my favorite things to do!
  • Feeling as though a weight has been lifted is just amazing...I thank God for that one 100%!
  • Spending time with my Mr. was the best part of the weekend!

P.S. If you wanna say a prayer for me at 2:45 today that would be wonderful! I'll fill ya in on it later! :)
