Cherry Sprite is awesome!

The hope of snow/ice day is always fun even if it doesn't happen.

S'mores made at home in a real fire is great!

Going to kid birthday parties are always so much fun!

Getting together with good friends I haven't seen in a while is awesome!!

Watching Tucker try his first Goldfish cracker was great! He loved it! :)

I'm so thankful for the ladies bible study that I get to attend on Sunday evenings.

 

Krispy Kreme for breakfast is the BEST!

Long hot showers are such a great way to end the day.

Productive evenings are the best...5 loads of laundry and lots of birthday prepration!

 

Now n' Laters are a good forgotten candy! ha!

Random Tuesday Thoughts

We are alive and well! Just been busy doing other things in the evenings...and I haven't been good about blogging.

 

 

~I am SO excited about Tucker's birthday party! I hope it turns out the way I have it planned in my head!

~Downton Abby was so dramatic this week! Gosh, I love that show! Can't wait for next week!

~My class isn't adjusting well to listening and respecting our student teacher and it's really frustrating.

~I'm looking forward to seeing what my best friend is having this weekend! Gender Reveal parties are always so much fun!

~I cannot belive this time next week I'll be a mommy of a ONE year old!

~T has started to scream/squeal...it was cute the first couple of times but now it's so loud...I know this is a form of communication but it's so loud! ha!

~"Is Tucker walking?" has been asked to me about 75 times in the last week...makes me worried that he's behind or something, but I've talked to a few great moms who says it's normal...I guess it's a question everyone asks when a kid turns one.

~I can't wait to see all our family and friends in a couple of weeks! It's been since Christmas since we've seen most of them!

Week 51

Dear Tucker,

Sunday was a fun day in the warmer weather!

Your teeth have been bothering you the past couple of days...you are still so good when you're teething. You just pull at your ear, drool a lot and whine a little. 

Monday was super fun because Mommy didn't have work and Daddy didn't have school!

Driving fast!

You love moving the chair around right now...it's not the safest activity but Mommy and Daddy watch you while you rearrange the chairs! 

You said DaDa for the first time and it was so cute! You whisper it when you say it!

You are LOVING blueberries! They are your favorite right now! 

Tuesday Mommy went back to work and you and Daddy had a fun day! The only not fun part was being constipated again...We are hoping to get some answers very soon about all of that. This is probably the 5th time since mid December that you've been constipated. We've tried to cut certain foods and add in food that will help you go. We've also tried all the old methods but nothing seems to help consistently.

You love to play in the dog toy basket. :)

You have loved books since you were very little and it makes me so happy that you love to read. I hope this continues for forever.

Tuesday night Aunt LK came to stay so on Wednesday when you woke up you got to play with her! :)

Daddy made made you blueberry pancakes for breakfast and you LOVED them! :)

Aunt LK played with you and went with us to the store. It's always so much fun to have Aunt LK here and you LOVE being with her. You had her hold you through the whole store. :)

You've done better this week with your later bedtime. Wednesday you went down at 6:30pm.

Thursday was good...you had more blueberry pancakes...Mommy thinks you're going to turn into a pancake! :)

Friday we took you to Steak n' Shake for the first time! you enjoyed it a lot! :)

You love driving fast! :)

Saturday we went to J's 3rd birthday! She had a bounce house and you LOVED it! 

You loved bouncing with Daddy!

We had such a great week! You are getting so big and we can't believe you're almost ONE! :)

Why Blog?

Why Blog?

 

Why do I blog?

 

Well, for a couple of reasons. First of all I blog for myself and my family mostly. I don't blog for money, fame or to be published.

 

Yes, I blog mostly about happy things. Who wants to read a negative blog? And why spend the time complaining when I could be focusing on the positive. My blog is to document what happens in our lives, exciting news, fun new things, and just whatever I want to blog about. :)

 

I am real on my blog. This is my life. I don't sugar coat things...I do have a wonderful life and I am very aware how blessed I am. I use the word "blessed" a lot...but I don't take that word lightly...I am VERY blessed. I know many people who don't have, want or are trying to have and be things they aren't. I am happy with where I am in my life. Yes, of course I would love to make more money, or stay at home, or drive a different car...I'm human. But I don't choose to complain or always talk about what I want on my blog.

 

I don't blog to get a million followers...I'm very happy when I have 10-20 people read a post. But what makes me happier is documenting my life and keeping a journal for my family.

 

It can be so easy to compare yourself to other people and their blogs....but is that their real life? I can get overwhelmed with all the cute things moms do with their children, and all the cute things they sew for their houses, or all the elaborate meals they cook their husbands. I try to only read blogs that are realistic...yes, there are a few blog like Hostess with the Mostess that are so fun to look at to get ideas for the many showers and parties that I throw.

But I can't be hard on myself about what I'm not doing. I have to look at the things I am doing and the time I'm able to spend with my family.

 

I know my blog may not be the most entertaining but I truly blog for my family. I just recently made a part of my blog into a book and it give me so much joy to look at that book in my house and know that all the time I spent blogging is not documented forever for TJH to read back on.

 

So with all of that being said...thank you so my sweet readers and thank you for all the comments and emails that I do receive. I do like having feedback.

 

But I will continue to blog about what my family does, what makes me happy each week and tons of videos and pictures of my son. :)

I'm thankful for toasters at school...even though when I got my bagel out it was burnt! ha!

I love DVR...I know I can't stay up late for some of the shows I enjoy watching...so it's nice to watch them after I put T down for the night.

Homemade Mexican food is by far my favorite in the world! ha!

Thursday January 17

Clusters make me happy...I love the kiddos that I get to sew with every week!

I'm hoping for a snow day tomorrow...or an ice day.

I love that my kiddos haven't seen old Disney movies because I get to introduce the movies to them...Dumbo, Aristocrats, and Fox and the Hound!...It's been raining for 4 days straight....indoor recess! ha!

Friday January 18

I love the Friday tradition that the Mr. and I have...Mexican for an early dinner!

I LOVED working on TJH's birthday stuff this evening!

I'm enjoying the extra 30 minutes that I have with TJH now that we've pushed his bedtime back.

Saturday January 19

Spending time with my best friend is awesome.

It made my day when Tucker gave me the BIGGEST kiss ever!

I'm enjoying the Glee marathon on Oxygen...love that show!

Sunday January 20

Random trips to the park with friends are the best!

Dinner cooked in our home are always so good!

I'm thankful for sunny weather! That rain was no fun this past week!

Monday January 21

I love having days off with my sweet family!

I love random texts from people that make me smile/laugh!

Listening to old country music takes me back to happy memories of when I was little!

I'm thankful that my husband knows how to cook...like squeeze dry?!?! ha!

I'm so glad my students get so excited over picking a new book for their literature circles.

I'm glad tomorrow is Wednesday...love short weeks!

Dada!

Tucker said "Mama" back in July and we've been waiting for him to say "Dada"! Well, he finally said it yesterday! And it was so precious and worth the wait!

He whispers it and it's so darn cute!

Here are a few videos from yesterday of course every time we pressed record he wouldn't do it completely but you'll get how cute it is through these videos. :)

Such a sweet boy! He sure does love his Dada!

Day 21...Hooked?

It's been 21 days since I've been reading through the Bible! 

Wow, I've learned so much in this short time! I keep telling the Mr..."Did you know....?" "How crazy is it that....!"

They say it takes 21 days to make something a habit...well I hope that true! I'm pretty hooked! :)

This was one of my New Year goals and I'm pretty proud that I'm sticking to it...I do have a lot of days ahead of me, but making it habit will help!

Week 50

Dear Tucker,

I cannot believe that that I just typed Week 50! WOW! That's a lot of weeks sweet boy!

Sunday was a fun day! It was beautiful outside so we played outside! We went to the park with our neighbor M and her dog Flik! You had so much fun pushing your stroller around the field.

Monday was a fun day! Aunt LK came to visit! 

Yummy lunch Daddy made you! :)

You also tried raspberries for the first time and really enjoyed them!

Tuesday was a fun day for sure! Daddy doesn't have class on Tuesdays so we get to have family time all together!

Daddy started making a super funny noise and you couldn't stop laughing! :)

Eating chicken, green beans and a little bit of mac n' cheese! :)

You got your FOURTH tooth today too! WOW! big boy!

Wednesday was a good day! We started to try to push your bedtime back a little later. You usually go to bed between 5:30 and 6pm. This was because you were nursing at 5am before Mommy went to work, but now that your on whole milk you don't need to wake up so early. Pushing back bedtimes aren't the most fun. You were wondering why Mommy was keeping you up late. But we had fun! :)

Daddy made you homemade blueberry/apple sauce! Yum!

And Daddy let you eat a snack and watch Elmo at the same time! WHOOP! 

This was you getting into stuff when it was getting past your bedtime. :) Who knew how much fun you could have pulling diapers out!

Thursday was the fourth day of rain this week...so we haven't been able to walk! So Mommy took you to a fun place to jump with our friends J and E. 

Then we rode the train around the mall..and you did love it! Your face doesn't show it, but you talked and waved the whole time. 

Friday's are always good...we of course went to eat Mexican! You LOVE going to our favorite place...you know exactly what to do...EAT! :)

Saturday morning was fun! We went to visit K, C and WRG! Mommy took maternity pictures for C and you got to play with WRG!

You found another book shelf...you love playing with yours!

And you knew exactly how to pull the books off of the shelf!

At lunch you wanted our pickle...so we let you have a bite and you LOVED it!

You weren't happy when we were finished eating ours...you wanted more!

You had so much fun and slept all the way home!

When we got home we played with the pups!

You did the SWEETEST thing ever...you grabbed both of my cheeks and gave me a HUGE kiss. I thought I would cry! SO sweet! 

Tuck, another wonderful week with you! We feel like you've grown so much this week! Mommy and Daddy keep saying...you are getting so big! Slow down little boy!

We love you to the moon and back!
