Amie(Eric's sister) brought us a gift! :) It was wrapped like a turkey!
Eric with his mom and sister! Our first Thanksgiving married!
All the grandkids with my grandmother!Me and my sweet mom!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Then on Friday we headed to Peachtree City for another day of eating turkey! We had Thanksgiving with Leslie and her family! After dinner we stopped by our sweet flower girls house, Lily Kate! We've missed her so much!
Saturday was wonderful...we were lazy for most of the day! Then we headed to some friends houses to watch football! GT won!! YAY! We are sad that AU lost but Bama did an amazing job this season! We got to see Eric's best friend Kenny and our dear friend Sue! Then we headed to my mom's house for dinner Saturday night!
Today we were planning on going to church with Eric's family but I woke up not feeling well. I think whatever Eric and his family had got passed along to me. Head colds are no fun! So we got ready and then met his family for lunch and then headed back to our house.
Only 5 more days of student teaching!!! YAY!! I'm almost done! Yesterday was exactly two weeks away until my graduation!! I can't wait!
We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend with family and friends! We sure did!

Catching UP!

Hello! We are alive...just busy busy busy!

This past weekend I headed down to Key Largo with my in-laws! :) We went down Thursday night and Eric was supposed to join us on Friday evening. I was finishing up my certification to be a SCUBA DIVER!

I did the first two dives on Friday morning...the water was warm but it wasn't so warm when I got out of the water. Then after my dives we headed to the Hammarlunds boat. Then later that evening we found out that Eric wasn't going to make it down because of the flights. We were all sad. :( Saturday morning we headed out for my last two dives. The seas were rough...5-6 foot waves. We only did one dive in the ocean because it was so rough, we then headed in to do my last dive in a lagoon. So by 1pm on Saturday I was done and officially a SCUBA DIVER!! YAY! :) It was nice to be in warmer weather and relax.

Sunday wasn't so fun...my sweet mother-in-law and brother-in-law got on the first flight but since I was using a buddy-pass I sat through 5 flights in the Miami airport before getting on to head home! So I finished up the book I was reading and started reading "Marley and Me"...such a WONDERFUL book! I'm about half way though it and I've laughed and cried!! :) I'm so excited because the movie comes out Christmas Day!!

Now I'm back home and getting ready for Thanksgiving!! YAY! We are having everyone at house for the big holiday! :) I'm getting so excited! Cleaning and adding little touches for the day!

I picked up our Christmas cards today! I am so excited to be sending out our very FIRST Christmas cards! And I'm pretty much obsessed with them!! :) I'll post a picture of them later after they have been received by our family and friends!

Livin' on Love :)

The Hammarlunds are alive...sorry for the delay in blogging. I know all of you were on the edge of your seats waiting for the next post. No, really. Sorry I haven't written in a few days.
We have had a great weekend!
Friday was Britta's family birthday celebration! We had Frog-more's stew...it's like a low-country boil. So yummy! And we got to hold sweet Aidan(our nephew).
Saturday we headed to an engagement party of one of my sorority sisters. It was great seeing all the girls. Eric and I got to spend some time with our closest friends...Lauren, Lexie and Hannah and their boys! :)
Today we headed back home and were lazy all day! It has been wonderful. Naps, hot apple cider, cleaning house and getting ready for another week.
Last week I made some yummy brownies that Leslie told me about. You cook a regular box of brownies but when there is like 8 minutes left you add mini York Peppermint Patties to the top and then cook for the remaing time. They are SOO yummy and make me think of winter time! :)
Eric was so excited about finding this HUGE peanut butter last week! He is the only one that eats "crunchy" peanut butter...so I told him that he had ALOT to eat, that did seem to bother him. :)
Anyone that knows me knows that Krispy Kreme is my weakness! I absolutely love a warm glazed donut from Krispy Kreme on any day at any time! Eric stopped at this VERY cute Krispy Kreme on our way home this morning and bought me a dozen donuts! :) I was so excited!

I've never seen such a cute Krispy Kreme! :)
So only 10 more days of teaching for me!!! YAY! And exactly 27 days until graduation! YAY!
This weekend Eric and I are heading down to Key Largo with the Hammarlunds to finish my diving certification! We are so excited to see Mr. Hamamrlunds new boat and get in the (hopefully) warm water!
Have a great Monday! :)

Happy Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRITTA!!! :)
(That's my sister! In the middle! Dancing the night away at our wedding!)
I remember the day Britta was born...I was 5 and not happy...I had been the only child for 5 years. My grandmother and I were in the elevator of the hospital with some huge PINK something. The nurse that was riding on the elevator with us asked..."Are you going to see your new baby sister??" I responded..."Yes." She then asked..."What is her name??" I say in a not so happy tone..."Her name is Britta...but I'm calling her Heather!" As you can tell I wasn't excited to have a sister and not happy at all that my parents were naming her Britta. I wanted her to be named Heather...and my mom says that I tried calling her Heather for a couple months.
But that has all changed now...Britta and I are best friends! She is the only person on this planet that can make me REALLY laugh! She is THE funniest person I know...and no she isn't "stand-up comedian" funny...she has a dry sense of humor and I LOVE it! She is the most talented woman I know. Beautiful inside and out. Caring towards everyone. And extremely intelligent!
I love you Britta Emily! :)

Weekend..."Live Your Life"

Good evening friends!
We had a wonderful weekend! :) Filled with lots of fun!!
Friday was my last day of "take-over"! YAY! After school I headed to the in-laws house! Got to see my sweet sister-in-law, Amie! And for a few minutes I got to see Brian...the brother-in-law! Eric came from Athens and we headed out to Poplar Road(the school I student teach at) Fall Festival. It was raining really hard...but they had moved everything inside. It was fun to see my kids outside of the classroom. I think they enjoyed seeing my husband that I talk about all the time! :) After the festival we headed to our very favorite restaurant in PTC...Chin Chin! YUMMY! :)

Saturday we headed out early to meet my family to go to Stone Mountain all together! It was Nationwide Family Day--my mom works for Nationwide. It was so much fun...we had lunch and then headed into the park to do fun stuff! We rode the lift up the mountain and then walked down. We saw Polar Express in 4D and walked through the Christmas town. Then we stopped by my Aunt Jan's house! It was so great seeing her!! Then we headed back to Fayetteville to eat dinner with the Biggs! We got to hold Aidan and eat yummy food! Then Eric and I stopped by Kenny's(Eric's best friend) house! It was great to see him!

Family Day for Nationwide Insurance

Christmas Town at Stone Mountain!

This morning Eric and I took Lucy to the lake in PTC...she was so excited!!

Our sweet daughter...Lucy! :)

We have a prayer request...my dear dear Aunt Marie...is in the hospital and not doing well at all. She is 87 and is probably the most amazing woman I know. She is really like a grandmother for me and my sisters. She lives out in California and we used to see her alot more when she lived here. But she was able to come for our wedding and it was so special to see her. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you.

This is Aunt Marie and me back in May 2006. :)

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is 2 weeks away! That is so excitng but also means we have a lot to do before both of our families come to celebrate with us in our home! :)

Tomorrow is Monday...not my favorite day because then Eric and I don't see each other as much. But it won't be long until we move and don't have to spend 14+ hours in the car a week.

Have a wonderful Monday! :)

Egggg Noggg...

Happy Thursday!! YAY tomorrow is FRIDAY! :)

Field trip went great on Wednesday...we left with all the kids and came back with all of them! That's a good thing!! We went to a science center in Grantsville...the kids seemed to enjoy it. It's sad because that is the ONLY field trip they get for the whole year.

After school I stopped by Kroger for some needed items for dinner and treat making! But I ran into these items and just had to have them! :) They both make happy...and Eric got so excited when he saw the Egg Nog in the fridge!!

These are the treats I made tonight for my kids...tomorrow is my LAST day of TAKE OVER!!! YAY! I still have three weeks left of student teaching...but I'm done with doing all the teaching. I'll still teach lessons and do lots of improtant things...but now my teacher is back in action!! I had to make two batches because I have 28 kids!! O well...we will just have to eat the left overs! :)
Speaking of the rascals...here are some of them on Halloween...the school had a "Vocabulary Hat Day". Each child picked a vocabulary word and made a hat to go along with it. Then we had a parade around the school. Some of the children did a great job...others not so much.

I think it would have been WAY more fun to do "Favorite Book Character Day"...but I'll just vote to do that when I become a "real" teacher! haha!
Tonight is GREYS!! YAY!
We are heading to PTC this weekend...should be filled with lots of fun!!

Good morning sweet friends and family!

Election day is over...thank goodness...I'm just praying for our Nation.
I had a teacher-work day yesterday...didn't get much done just like the other one. But it was nice to have a relaxing day.
Today we have a field trip...haha! I'll have to share how it goes!

Happy 3 Months! :)

Today...3 months ago we became THE HAMMARLUNDS! :)We love married life! (No, really!) :)

Wedding Bells and much more...

Happy November friends! I officially feel as though it's fall...it's November and even closer to Thanksgiving!

Eric and I had a wonderful weekend! Full of laughing to hard our tummys hurt, good food, beautiful wedding and quality time together!

Eric came home from work on Friday and was so excited about our Halloween costumes! We were going to be a nurse and doctor. I thought it was a cute idea...we were going to a party and thought it would be cute to be a pair. So he brings in the costume and I put it on....it was HUGE...like I could have been 9 months pregnant and still had room! He felt horrible and so did I. So we went as The Hammarlunds! haha! Needless to say we will go costume shopping TOGETHER next year!

Saturday we had planned to go up to Athens to condo shop...but we slept in and had so much to do before the wedding that evening...so we are planning going in 2 weeks!

Saturday we spent doing tons of laundry, exchanging more gifts, and eating yummy sushi!!

Eric and I get all ready for the wedding...put the address for the wedding in the GPS and head out! We are driving enjoying our time, and talking about our own wedding. We arrive at the address...walk up...have a seat. I start looking around to see if I noticed anyone I knew...and I didn't see anyone but didn't think much about it. Then the preacher walks out with the groom. I had never seen him in my life...but I thought it was maybe the best man. Then a bridesmaid walks out...in the wrong color dress and there is only one. I look at Eric and I'm like...we are at the WRONG wedding. We ask the people in front whose wedding it was and they told us the McDermits...I start freaking out. Then here comes the bride...I've never seen her in my life!!! Eric takes a picture and then we RUN out of there!!! We are officially wedding crashers!!!

WRONG WEDDING!!!

So we are running out of the parking lot...I'm crying... saying "I'm going to miss my big sister(in the sorority) walk down the aisle!!" We run to the car, drive super fast. End up making it to the right wedding and hadn't missed much at all. After we arrived at the correct wedding we thought it was so funny!

Mireille is my big sister in the sorority and her wedding was absolutely beautiful and so much fun! Saw lots of sorority sisters I hadn't seen in a while and we had a great time of dancing and catching up!

RIGHT Wedding! :)

The Hammarlunds!
The BEAUTIFUL bride!!
Today has been filled with Eric sleeping on the couch and watching "Bond" movies while I sit on the other end of the couch doing lesson plans!!
I survived through Halloween with my fifth graders! haha! 4 more weeks of student teaching!! This is my last week of "take-over"!! YAY!
