Book Buddies!

At school my class and a Kindergarten class are BOOK BUDDIES!

Every Friday we head down to the Kindergarten hall with books in hand to read!

All the kids have a buddy and each child reads...the 5th grader and the Kindergartner!

Well yesterday was no different we headed down the hall for a fun time of reading together!

So wonderful to work with great co-workers that want to do wonderful things like
 BOOK BUDDIES!

The Mr. picked me up from work yesterday and I was hungry! He asked me where I wanted to eat and I didn't really know...but we drove by a couple of places and I couldn't decided what I wanted.
He then suggested this:

Of course I said yes! YUMMY!
(I know, not healthy at all but o so good!)

Nope, wasn't done there...DQ is next door...

Yup, they have MINI blizzards! HOW PERFECT! It was already bad enough what I had eaten for dinner but the LITTLE blizzard wouldn't hurt!

Then we headed home to walk our doggies and spend the evening together!

I walked in and this is what I found:

A bunch of new baking goodies!!! I was so excited!

Like everyone else, I watched the ROYAL WEDDING! It was just wonderful! The Mr. even got up with me to watch the fun! And he prepared something very appropriate!

It was a great end of the week! Lookin' forward to the weekend!

Prayers, Storms, and Praises

Good morning,

My heart is so heavy this morning. I've been praying since 1:45am. For lots of things...one the horrible storms and two we've had a loss.
M from our small group's mother took her life on Tuesday. You never can be so sure that everything is perfect for people. Please join me in praying for M and her family.
 My heart hurts for M.

So, the Southeast was hit with some BAD storms. The death tolls are too high for me to think about for tornadoes. I went to bed last night like any other night but my sweet husband stayed up and kept watch of the news and weather. And text and called others that he was worried about. When he came up at 2am, I woke up and asked if everything was okay and he told me that yes most of everything had passed.
PRAISE the LORD!
When I came down this morning to get ready this is what I saw:

He had it all set up for us just in case! :)

My praise is that my sweet friend K who had her baby earlier this month, well today was her DUE DATE! But clearly that sweet little boy came early! :)

********UPDATE**********

My other great friend at work A found out yesterday that she is having a BOY! Such exciting news! Lots of babies at our school and most of them are BOYS!

I hope you and your family are safe and well this morning!

My prayer today is for the families who are hurt, without homes, or have lost loved ones.

So What If...

• I'm counting down the school days...16!
• I've been thinking of how I can tie the Royal Wedding to the Georgia Performance Standards!
• I'm done with two of my grad classes! Just one more exam! And I'll be done with my first semester!
• I go to bed when it's still light outside! You would too if you woke up at 4:30am! 
• I'm so happy today is the last day of CRCT!
• If my students and I brainstormed games that we can play that are related to Math!
• I need to get my eyebrows done soooo bad! Like I should have gotten them done 2 weeks ago!
• Smoothies make me happy! I make really good ones if I say so myself! :)

 

Camera...

I need to get better with taking my actual camera out and taking pictures! O well, here are some pictures from this weekend taken with my iPhone.

We headed up to SC to visit my sister-in-law and her husband for Easter! The Mr.'s whole family came up too!

Our sweet pups got nervous when we started packing to go home, they didn't want us to leave them! Thought this was such a cute picture of sister-love!

The Mr. and I went to dinner last night and saw the saddest thing. A man with his two children, the father read his book the entire dinner. And did not even talk to his own children. It was so sad. I pray that I don't make bad decisions when I'm a parent. Having dinner conversations are crucial to children!

The Mr. and I watched a Dateline last night about the royal wedding! O my! I'm so excited! I cannot wait to watch it!

Wednesday when I was crazily(that's probably not a word!) driving around town before heading to my evening class, my phone rang.

I was totally expecting it to be the Mr. calling. But I looked down and it was my best friend C! It just made my day to see her name light up on my phone!

I picked it up and she said,
 "Just wanted to hear your voice!"
And I love it! It made my day!
We talk everyday through text message and do call, but it had been a while and it was wonderful to have a great conversation with her!

It's the simple things in life that can make you smile!

Friday Friends!

So I know I talk alot about how thankful I am, but I truly am so thankful! Events in your life sometimes make you realize these things!

Yesterday I talked about my wonderful husband  and today I'm going to talk about some of my wonderful friends!

Excuse the iPhone pics...but I got to  see these three pretty ladies this past weekend!  We all met in college through our sorority.  I just love them! We've all been apart of  each others weddings and our last wedding of the FOUR will be this November! Miss L will be getting married in DISNEY! :) It's so great to have three girls who I know I can call about anything anytime!! I love our monthly get-togethers!

I have many other really great friends too!
 I'm a lucky girl!

 

 

 

Thankful!

Even though we've gone though some rough times in the past three months...we have grown so much closer! It's so nice to be married to my best friend. The one person that TRULY gets me! I'm so thankful for the Mr. in all of his support of everything I do and how busy I am. He never tells me no when I'm adding another thing to my plate. He encourages me to be a better person. He sticks up for me when it's needed! I love when he laughs at me...this doesn't usually happen. :) I'm so thankful for all that he has done for our pups and house in the past three months too. You should see our yard! :) The security of being married to a man that loves me, cares for me and encourages me is just amazing! And the best of it all...he is a man of God!

• I've been more postive this week! (That's a good thing!)


• I'm lovin' the fact that I'm wearing jeans today! ( And it's not Friday...but I bought a pass to wear them and the money goes towards Relay For Life!)


• I have the BEST husband in the entire world! Hands down!


• My best friends and I have monthly appts to see each other!


• I'm still obessed with Zumba! (I actually am having a little more time to work out and back to my old workout of Zumba is the best!)

Three: Because it's a reminder of Spring and the EASTER season!

Today is Twin Day at school!

Baby Girl Shower!

Like I've said before, I've thrown girl showers before! :) And this one was fun too!

The girls from my small group and I got together to throw a shower for C!

She is expecting a little girl in the beginning of May!

So What If...

• I wore a spring outfit yesterday and then the weather changed and I froze!


• I'm counting down the school days...26 left!


• I'm excited to go to the dermatologist on Friday.


• I'm ready to stop reviewing with my students...it's so not fun!


• I'm trying to stay really patient about the Mr.'s job situation.


• I'm lovin' the fact that K had her sweet baby boy! He is precious!


• I haven't watched TV in weeks....who has time for that?


• I get so sad when I have to unsnuggle Ethel from me in the morning. It breaks my heart!


• I'm excited that my hair is getting long!

Pep Rally

CRCT...

if you are an educator or a parent or are related to any child in school you know what those four letters mean.

TESTING. TESTING. TESTING.

We are exactly one week from the beginning of this VERY important test! A test that has good and bad points...I won't go into that right now. But anyways...

This week is called "Operation Buckle down" and it's kind of like a spirit week!

Monday: Black Out Day

Today: Silly Sock Day-"Knock the Socks off the Test!"

Wednesday: Hat Day-"Hats off to good testing!"

Thursday: Sunglasses Day-"Expect a BRIGHT Future!"

Friday: Twin Day-"Team Up Against the Test!"

Yesterday we had a pep rally to start off the week! And since our school is in the same town as a big university, the coaches came to pep up our students for the BIG test!

This coach was one of them!:

It was kind of funny how all the teachers reacted...some acted like they were star struck. The kids loved having him in our building and loved his speech. He compared the CRCT to a football game...which was a great analogy for our students!

Just a perk of living in the same town as the university!

 WHOOHOO!

Weekend in Bullets

Our weekend in bullets:

• Friday was long but good...we had our school Spring Carnival and it was fun! Our team was in charge of the cake walk! Super fun!


• The Mr. picked me up and took me to dinner after my long day!


• Then I did last minute prep for the shower at our house the next day. The Mr. was great and cleaned the house for me for the shower. :)


• Saturday the girls in our small group through a baby shower for C (that is also in our small group) at our house. I'll have pics soon, B took all the pictures. It was very fun and I think it turned out cute!


• I had a really embarrassing moment at the shower! ha! We were talking about the local cupcake places and I started talking about how one of them is HORRIBLE. Well, one of the guest rudely says, "My best friend owns that shop!" I didn't know what to do or say...SO embarrassing. But what I wanted to say is that she needs to tell her friend that her cupcakes are NOT good! ha!


• Saturday night was SUPER lazy and nice!


• Today has been just wonderful! Sunday School, Church and lunch all with my Mr!


• I've spent my afternoon listening to John Mayer Radio on Pandora and doing two projects for grad school.


• I've also iced two cakes for a shower at school this week.

I love fun and productive weekends!
