Eric's Birthday Celebrations!

What a great week and weekend!
I wasn't able to be at home the night of Eric's birthday. I was so upset and cried alot about it. But the family I nanny for needed me to stay the night. I felt horrible and of course Eric was so understanding and so sweet about it. So we celebrated Friday night! :)
I made homemade General Tso Chicken (our FAVORITE Chinese dish) for Eric! It turned out so yummy...if I say so myself! And then we had a cupcake and I sang Happy Birthday to him...solo! haha! :) It was a great night for the two of us to celebrate my sweet husbands birthday!

Happy Birthday!
Saturday was the big celebration! I originally was planning a SURPRISE birthday for Eric...but that didn't work out because he found out about it. SOOO we just had a birthday party at our new home! It was such a fun night! We had our amazing family help us with setting things up and preparing some of the food. We had many friends drive the long way to Athens to celebrate!

Some of the decorations in the house!

Our first picture in front of our first house! :)

Of course my wonderful three best friends wouldn't have missed out on celebrating Eric's birthday!

My beautiful family!

We had a great weekend and hopefully a great week ahead of us!

So glad I have such a cute birthday boy as a husband! :)

Birthday Boy!

Happy Birthday Eric!!

My husband is turning the ripe ol' age of 25 today!!!

Eric is the HARDEST person to surprise! I originally planned a surprise party for him but he found out about it! And then this morning after he left work I got up to decorate the house with banners and streamers. But then about 10 minutes into my decorating he comes home from work just to stop by! I was so mad! O well. The house will be done when he gets home from work! :)

I'm so thankful to have such a loving, strong, caring, and funny husband! I thank God for him everyday. He truly is my best friend in the entire world. He's the only one that gets me completely. I hope that I have many many many more birthdays with him! :)

I love you birthday boy!

Book Nerd

Dear friends,

Please always remember to pay your library fines!

You ask why I'm reminding you of this??? Well today I decided to find my local library and transfer my membership. Yes, I'm a member of the public library. If you are not a member I highly recommend you becoming a member. The library has way more than just books for your enjoyment. Yes, there are tons of books but also DVDs, CDs, book on CD, magazines, and so much more!

So when I reached the counter to transfer my membership the sweet librarian(she actually wasn't too sweet) informed me that I owe $1.80. I felt horrible. How did I occur this debt? I thought back and tried to remember when I returned my books LATE. I remembered shortly after handing her the money. Then I went on my way to explore this new library. I always feel out of place in a new library. Everyone there knows exactly where everything is...and you don't want to ask where things are because they may think your new or not a regular library visitor.

Leaving the Athens-Clarke County Public Library empty handed today was okay but I know I'll be leaving in the future with many good finds! :)

Love,
Your Secret Library Lover

A Married Valentines Day!

How was your love day?
Ours was different this year but good!
The family I nanny for needed me to stay overnight Friday night. So I stayed with the kids all day Friday and Saturday. And took the two girls to CheerSport(the largest cheerleading competition in the world---20,000 people in the World Congress Center in Atlanta!) on Saturday...we left their house at 7am on Saturday and returned at 4:30pm. Their Mom realized at 1pm on Saturday that it was Valentines Day. She said she felt horrible and decided to come home for the night. So she returned home about 7:30 and then I was on my way back to Athens to see my Valentine!
We went and ate at our VERY favorite sushi restaurant in Athens. It was so yummy! When I got home I had handpicked flowers, a card, and theses beautiful cookies! :)

Sunday we spent together! We visited a church...it's so hard visiting churches because you compare them all to your home church. But we are going in open-minded to each church we visit. Hoping to find a great church here! Then later in the day we went on some of the walking trials in Athens. It was such a great day to spend together.
The family I nanny for is absolutely wonderful! They have four children so it keeps me busy but I sure do love them! Below is Natalie Claire last week...we were making her Valentines for her class and the Valentines we got had tattoos. We decided that the boys didn't need the tattoos, so NC decided to put all the tattoos on her arms. She probably had 12 Disney Princess tattoos on her arms by the end of the day. Your probably thinking...great Nanny! haha But it kept her busy and she had fun! And hey, they wash off!! :)

Hope you have a great Monday!
P.S. I have a birthday boy as a husband this week! :)

Monkey Toes...

I'm already a VERY domestic woman...but this weekend I've gotten a spark of even more domesticness(I know that isn't a word!)! I cooked all the meals eaten in our home Friday-Sunday! (Usually Eric cooks and I help!) I've been reading this great blog! And got this wonderful recipe from Britta(not my sister). It's called Chipotle Chicken Enchiladas! Here is a picture of my end product! (Eric even LOVED them...if he likes it then that means I did a good job!)

So after dinner and cleaning up I walk out into the living room and this is what I find...my husband constructing an Italian cart for work. Only my husband would be building a wine cart on Sunday evening! And now this thing is sitting in our house. He told me he would have it out by Wednesday...I'll let you know when it actually leaves! :)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Monday! Only 4 days until Valentines day! YAY! :)

Happy 6 Months Eric and here's to many many many more months of marriage! I love you!

February=Love!

Hello friends!

This weekend was filled with lots of fun!

Friday night we headed to PTC after I got off work. Saturday was spent looking for items for our new home. And then we celebrated my Dad's 50th birthday! We told him we wanted to take him to dinner but little did he know that after dinner was a SURPRISE party! His fiance threw the party and did an excel let job! 35 of his closest friends were there to celebrate! It was a fun night!

Sunday we did some things around the Hammarlund house for my sweet mom-in-law and then we headed to dinner at my moms house. We had dinner with my grandparents...my mom made a lovely meal and it was filled with lots of good conversations!

So I don't think I told yall about the puppy that we got Mr. Hammarlund for his birthday! She is SOOOO cute...I kind of want to steal her for myself. But we will be getting Lucy back soon! He named her Coral...like a coral reef! We brought her home last weekend so it was so great seeing her again this weekend...just in one week she has grown so much! Here are some pics that Mrs. Hammar took!

This is my favorite pic of her! HIII! :)

Lucy actually likes her! Just not when Coral tries to eat her food!

Lucy plays really gentle with her...it's precious!

So I'm so excited it's February! Valentines is my FAVORITE holiday! And my sweet husbands birthday is this month!(It's also his Mom's bday and his Nana's bday, and some other relatives!--I joke that I won't have babies in February!) I love everything pink and red! I love hearts and the yummy candy! I love that it's not January anymore. I love that it's closer to spring...I just love February!

So...HAPPY FEBRUARY!!!
