EKH & OCH Weeks 1 and 2

Dear Emma Kate and Olivia,

What a true blessing you are to our family! Mommy was a little behind on starting your weekly posts. But now things seem to be more in a routine and I'll do your first 52 weeks just like I did for your big brother. It's so fun to document your weeks because the first year is so exciting and you girls will change so very much! 

Most of your first week as spent at the hospital...you girls were born on a Monday and we went home on Friday. Our first week was spent breastfeeding, lots of snuggles and meeting your family members. 

Week 2 was spent at home. We had a lot of family and friends come meet you sweet girls. We figured out quickly that Emma Kate has acid reflux. Dr. G put EK on meds and we started working through that. At the end of week 2 I stopped waking you girls up for feedings at night and let you sleep until you woke up. You girls have been pretty good sleepers so far. 5-8 hour stretches at night and we've only had a few nights were EK screamed for hours...after the meds started working we had less bad nights. At Bundles of Joy EK was 6lbs 14oz and OCH was 7lbs 2oz.

One of Mommy's friends came to hold you...she is a twin and her sister just passed away a few weeks ago...so it was so special.

It's been a wonderful two weeks!! We are so blessed to be your parents...you've brought so much joy to us and TJH!
