37 Weeks_Baby Hammar 2 and 3

How Far Along: 37 weeks--FULL TERM for twins! :)
Size of babies: size of watermelons
Weight gain: 65 lbs (as of 9/5)
Maternity Clothes: All maternity...and now they aren't fitting well. ha!
Gender: our sweet girls!
Movement: Yes, I can see elbows and knees. :)
Sleep: Sleep hasn't changed. :(
Symptoms: Swelling, slight headache and some high blood pressure...more on that below.
What I miss: Being an active mommy to TJH.
Cravings: Cookie cake, pizza, candy corn...this is normal for this time of year for me...but I think it's more intense! :)
Best Moment this week: Carrying these girls another week successfully! I'm was officially put on bed rest Wednesday afternoon. My blood pressure was super high for me on Wednesday. I was sent to the hospital for monitoring for a couple of hours. It was decided that I needed to stop working. I was pretty upset about this. I feel the best when I'm at work. But I understand if it keeps my blood pressure and swelling down to be resting, I will do it. I am glad that the girls heartbeats and movement was good.
What I am looking forward to: My doctors appointment next week...it will be my last one and I will also have pre-op for my csection. Can't wait to hold my sweet girls!

36 Weeks_Baby Hammar 2 and 3

How Far Along: 36 weeks
Size of babies: size of cantaloupes
Weight gain: 60 lbs (as of 8/19)
Maternity Clothes: All maternity
Gender: our sweet girls!
Movement: Yes, they are still very active. They haven't slowed down. I love seeing them move around. I hope they are being sweet to each other. :)
Sleep: Sleep is awful. I'm having contractions every night. It's so uncomfortable to lay down. Hate to complain...but I'm great during the day. Just can't stand the sleeping part...or lack of sleeping.
Symptoms: Swelling (I know it's not bad compared to other people, but it's crazy for me because I've never seen myself swollen ever...I didn't swell while I was pregnant with TJH) and heavy tummy
What I miss: My non maternity clothes. It's hard having a limited wardrobe for work. I'm making it work, but I will be happy to be in my normal clothes. Praying all of this weight will come off in a timely manner. :)
Cravings: Cookie cake, bacon biscuits, and Granny Smith apples
Best Moment this week: Carrying these girls another week successfully! My kids and co-workers have been so sweet and helpful to me! And I am SOOO thankful for my sweet husband! He's doing everything right now...and I can't stand it and feel horrible but he's really trying to help me keep these girls in as long as possible!
What I am looking forward to: My doctors appointment next week. I'm looking forward to what my doctor says at 37 weeks!

35 Weeks_Baby Hammar 2 and 3

(Ethel insisted on being in the picture :)...And she even posed the right way!)

How Far Along: 35 weeks
Size of babies:  size of honeydew melons
Weight gain: 60 lbs (as of 8/19) Yup, that's a lot!
Maternity Clothes: All maternity
Gender: girls!
Movement: Yes of course! I have busy girls in my tummy! They haven't slowed down one bit. I LOVE all of their movement and I can't wait to see if it's true how they are inside my tummy is the same when they are born. :)
Sleep: Sleep is a thing of the past. I have started taking a sleeping aid to try to help. It allows me to get a window of about 3 hours a sleep in a row. But other than that I'm up every 1-1.5 hours because of comfort or potty breaks.
Symptoms: Nothing new really...heavy tummy and swelling.
What I miss: Sushi and being able to do things for myself and TJH. :( I hate feeling helpless.
Cravings: Buffalo chicken salads, pizza, and Nutty Buddys! :) As you can see I've been hungry this week!
Best Moment this week: We had another good doc appointment this week. My doc is very confident in my body and carrying these sweet girls! She went ahead and scheduled my c-section because she said there is no room for Baby A to flip head down. I have come to terms with having a c-section and prayed about it a lot. I trust my docotor and her decsions. She believes that I will go 38.5 weeks because that's when she scheduled my c-section. It's crazy to know the girls birthday(I mean if they don't decied to come before then.) and to know when I will meet them! :)
What I am looking forward to: Another successful week of carrying two baby girls!  I'm praying that I make it to my c-section date for a couple of reasons...I want my doc to do my c-section. And I would like to keep them in as long as possible for weight gain.

34 Weeks_Baby Hammar 2 and 3

How Far Along: 34 weeks
Size of babies:  size of cantaloupes
Weight gain: 50 lbs (as of 8/6)
Maternity Clothes: All maternity
Gender: girls!
Movement: Yes! Baby A is so active at night...all night long. :) And Baby B is still the same...very active and is always on the move!
Sleep: Sleep...ha! NOT!
Symptoms: Just a heavy tummy...sometimes I feel like I need to hold it up! ha!
What I miss: Sushi
Cravings: I've been pretty hungry this week...so anything really. And of course ice cream...Butterfinger ice cream!
Best Moment this week: Having a GREAT 34 week ultra sound on Thursday! The girls looked and sounded great! Baby A is 4lbs 15oz and Baby B is 5lbs 6oz! I was so excited about their weights. I'm praying this is a good indication that they won't be going to NICU. I'm praying for more growth in the next couple of weeks.
What I am looking forward to:  A good weekly appointment and carrying these girls as long as possible!

33 Weeks_Baby Hammar 2 and 3

How Far Along: 33 weeks
Size of babies:  size of pineapples
Weight gain: 50 lbs (as of 8/6)
Maternity Clothes: All maternity
Gender: girls!
Movement: Yes! Baby B moves so much...I'm not even sure she sleeps! And her movement is very noticeable from the outside. Baby A likes to move at night.
Sleep: Sleep isn't a positive thing to talk about. I'm sleeping in our guest room because we have a memory foam mattress in there...I miss sleeping with my husband. It's super painful to move around in the bed and get out of the bed.
Symptoms: Swelling and a very heavy tummy.
What I miss: Sushi
Cravings: Ice Cream
Best Moment this week: Had a great doctors appointment earlier this week. Both girls are so active. I thought Baby A had flipped because I had super bad contractions/pain earlier in the week but when they checked at my appointment she was still in the same place.
What I am looking forward to:  Our shower this weekend thrown by my three best friends...the FOUR. :) And our in depth ultra sound we will have this upcoming week to check on the girls. :)

Weight gain: 41 lbs (as of 7/23)
Maternity Clothes: All maternity now that I'm back at work...no more of the Mr's t-shirts

31 Weeks_Baby Hammar 2 and 3

How Far Along: 31 weeks
Size of babies:  size of coconuts...my tummy is measuring 37 weeks...so funny!
Weight gain: 41 lbs (as of 7/23)...we have no idea how I lost 2 lbs...
Maternity Clothes: All maternity expect for the Mr's big t-shirts
Gender: girls!
Movement: Yes! Baby A is a night time mover and shaker...she likes to kick my bladder a lot! :) Baby B moves all day long...and makes my tummy looks super strange from the outside! ha!
Sleep: Sleep is only done in about 1.5-2.5 hour increments. 5-7 bathroom breaks a night are no fun!
Symptoms: Heartburn...but thankfully my doc gave me some meds for that!
What I miss: Sushi and tuna fish! And sleeping in any position that isn't my left side.
Cravings: Ice Cream and pizza
Best Moment this week: Having a good doc appt this week. My doc will see me for the rest of my pregnancy...there are 4 other docs in the office and usually you rotate through. But she wants me to only see her....which I like! Baby A is still breech so there was talk of a c-section...which I've been praying about a lot and I'm more at peace about it all because I know it will all work out and I need to let happen what's best for the girls. My doc is still hopeful she will flip but went ahead and started to talk about a c-section. I PASSED my 3 hour glucose! YAY! And my doc said we will take it week by week on the subject of bed rest...I'm really wanting to be able to work as long possible!
What I am looking forward to: Our first baby shower for the girls! We are so blessed to have wonderful friends/co-workers who are throwing us a shower for the baby girls! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and share them with you all!

30 Weeks_Baby Hammar 2 and 3

(pretty sure my face is starting to swell...not so cute)
How Far Along: 30 weeks
Size of babies:  size of heads of lettuce ..Baby A is 3.1lbs and Baby B is 3.2lbs...they are each the average weight of a singleton...but there are two in my tummy! :)
Weight gain: 43 lbs (as of 7/15)
Maternity Clothes: Pretty much all maternity.
Gender: girls!
Movement: Yes! And I love knowing their positions so I kind of know which body parts of which baby are moving.
Sleep: Sleep is only done in about 1.5-2.5 hour increments.
Symptoms: Nothing besides the normal...tummy is heavy and some heartburn.
What I miss: Sushi and tuna fish! And sleeping in any position that isn't my left side.
Cravings: Ice Cream and Butterfingers...and the Mr. brought home my first ever Butterfinger Blizzard from DQ...let's just say dangerous! :) The two things I'm craving put together! AH!
Best Moment this week: Seeing the babies at our high risk doc office. His ultra sound machine is amazing and gives us so much information about the babies. The weights aren't estimates like normal OB's give...it's their actual weights. Baby A-3.1lbs Baby B-3.2lbs  He said there is plenty of fluid and my cervix looks great still! They said the same thing about our girls...Baby A is laid back and Baby B is going to be our wild child! :) Baby A is still breech so we are praying she decides to flip...I'm kind of nervous she won't since she is laid back. Baby B is head down and always touching her sister with her hands and feet. Even though they are in separate sacs they can still feel each other and Baby B doesn't let her sac get in the way of bothering her sister! :)
What I am looking forward to: Another good appointment next week and the results from my 3 hour glucose....praying they come back good! Also, carrying these sweet girls another week successfully. We are so thankful for all the prayers and love while these precious girls grow in my tummy!

What I miss: Sushi and tuna fish!
Cravings: Ice Cream...still! :)

28 weeks_Baby Hammar 2 and 3

(Excuse the not very cute outfit! ha! And hair...it's been raining for days here!)

How Far Along: 28 weeks
Size of babies:   small cabbages...they are both 2.8lbs to be exact! :)
Weight gain: 37 lbs (as of 6/28)
Maternity Clothes: Pretty much all maternity.
Gender: two sweet girls!

Sleep: Sleep is not wonderful...waking up feeling as though I have been beat up is no fun!
Symptoms: Heartburn
What I miss: Sushi
Cravings: Ice Cream :)
Best Moment this week: Another successful week of growing two babies! :) And 4th of July! So crazy to think that the girls will be 10months old for their first 4th of July!
We had a bit of a scare on the 4th of July...the girls hadn't moved in almost 24 hours...Baby A hadn't moved in 24 hours and Baby B hadn't moved in 12 hours. I called my doc and they told me to go to the ER. Well, we are out of town, so we went to the hospital here in our hometown. We were hooked up and had an ultrasound. Everything turned out great with the girls...they just scared me! The doc thinks they may have just been on a nerve where I couldn't feel their movements. I was pretty scared. The Mr. was amazing and so calm(like always in emergencies) the whole 6 hours in the hospital. But I am SO thankful they are okay and growing right on track and have plenty of fluid!
What I am looking forward to: A great week spending time with family and friends in our hometown...last trip "home" for a long time.

27 Weeks_Baby Hammar 2 and 3

How Far Along: 27 weeks
Size of babies:  heads of cauliflower
Weight gain: 37 lbs (as of 6/28) Just keepin' it real around here. No, I'm not happy about this, but if it means healthy girls then I am 100% okay with it! And if that weight gain keeps them out of the NICU then I am 200% okay with it!
Maternity Clothes: Pretty much all maternity.
Gender: two sweet girls!
Movement: Yes! They have had hiccups this week a couple of times and it's really cool! :)
Sleep: Sleep is not the best...I wake up super sore.
Symptoms: Nothing really this week...which I'm thankful for!
What I miss: Sushi
Cravings: Ice Cream...and super cold water! :)
Best Moment this week: Great doc appt on Friday! We got cute head shots of the girls! But I'm upset that both girls are breech...I'm praying that at least twin A flips. Funny moment at the doc...the doc comes in and measures my tummy...he loudly states, "You're measuring 35 weeks...perfect!" I think to myself...umm I'm only 27 weeks! ha! I do know there is more than one in there but I just thought it was funny that I'm basically as big as a full term singleton.
What I am looking forward to: A wonderful 4th of July with my sweet family!
