Mommy Club

Motherhood is hard. Let's be real. It's hard hard work. But it's the best work us women will EVER do!

I am a mommy. I have been for almost 3 years...well a little more than that if you count carrying my first child. To say I've enjoyed every second would be a lie. But I will say that I've enjoyed about 99% of it.  I am NOT the best mom out there and don't even come close to some of the mothers I've met in my life. But I will say I learn something from every mother I meet. Some things I learn I keep in my back pocket for later use and some things I think to myself...I am going to pray that I never do that.

Just in the past week I've had 4 encounters of either Facebook messages, texts or emails asking for advice about different things having to do with being a mommy. And please don't think for one second that I'm bragging. I'm just trying to get my point across...we are all in this together! No mama can do it alone! (Yes, I even have moments where I think I CAN DO IT all by myself...but then something happens 2 minutes later to tell me No!) We can't do anything of this without our Father. He's put us in these positions of motherhood for a reason. He's places people around us to support and love us.

Some mama's are really good at certain things and we should ask their advice. Some mama's just need a nice text or email saying their doing a good job. But all of us mama's need to be easier on ourselves and trust in the Lord. And sometimes that's harder than it seems. But I have to constantly remind myself to step back and let the Lord take control. So, don't worry about the laundry, the messy house, the dishwasher that hasn't been unloaded...give yourself credit for the fact that your children are LOVED by you and you are showing them their Father's love daily.

And let's be nice to each other mama's...we are in the awesome club together! :)

Back to Reality

We all had a great week back at school! The kids were excited to see their friends and teacher. And the Mr. and I were excited to see our teacher friends and students.

It has rained SO much here and finally it wasn't raining on Monday and it wasn't too cold so we went outside for 10 minutes when we got home from school!

TJH had some bubbles to blow!

Tuesday the girls had their 15 month well visit...I'll blog more about that later but they are super healthy and have the same EXACT stats!!

Ethel also got groomed on Tuesday! She looks so cute, she needed it bad!!

Our afternoons/evenings can get hectic. They kids are SO hungry and tired when I pick them up from school. So after I get the girls to bed I try to spend some quality time with TJH. Sometimes it's whatever he chooses, maybe reading, playing cars, or baking! :) We made muffins and I got the simple ones that you just add the milk so he could do it all! He LOVED it and he was super proud the next morning to share his muffins with his sisters!

It got SO cold Wednesday night/Thursday morning. When I loaded the kids up Thursday morning it was 13 degrees!

The girls and I all wore our vests and TJH wore a super warm sweater!

And then we put our big jackets on too! :)

The big question every Friday at school amongst teacher friends is" What are y'all doing this weekend?" I always love hearing what everyone is doing with their families. We do have busy weekends but my favorite weekends are spent at home playing... and that's exactly what we did this weekend!

We played all day Saturday and then Saturday night we had J and M over for dinner and they brought over their new fire pit and we had a fire. It was super fun!

Today is filled with more playing, the Mr. going to do lesson planning and prepping for busy week ahead! :)

Last Weekend of Break!

This weekend has been great!

Friday we took the kids to "school" so we could get some major organizing done! I spent 3 hours in the kids closets organizing all the clothes they have outgrown and putting away new clothes. The Mr. organized his closet, touched up paint in our room, and put away all of the Christmas! It was a great day of getting stuff done that we can't and don't want to do with the kiddos home. They loved seeing their teachers and it was good for them to get back into the routine of things.

We are going to use the Mr.'s old iPhone as an incentive for TJH to start using the potty...yes,we are a month away from his 3rd birthday and he's not potty trained....ugh.

Saturday was rainy again...we've had A LOT of rain over break! We played at home and the Mr. made some super yummy jambalya with shrimp, chicken and andouille.

EK found TJH's construction vest and wanted to wear it all day! It was so cute...the Mr. and I called her Bertha most of the day! :)

M came over to see us and the kids since they had just gotten back from FL. We sure did miss her and J!

Then Saturday night I picked up my sister K and we went and saw Annie...such a GOOD movie! I loved it!!! I'm a sucker for musicals and this one was redone perfectly!

Sunday started out with a yummy breakfast with J and T! We like to meet up at Waffle House about once a month to catch up and also for the boys to see each other! :)

Then we played more and then hit up the YMCA pool for some fun! We had to do something active since it's been raining for days!

Livi loves Elmo and I found T's old Elmo shirt and thought she would love to wear it! Then we found a pic of TJH in it and put them side by side...T is 18 months old and OCH is almost 16 months.

M with EK in the pool! The kids enjoyed it a lot!

T and Daddy were playing with EK and O's babies after they went to bed. Daddy hasn't lost his swaddling skills and TJH is a great babysitter! ;)

Everything is laid out for school tomorrow...can't believe break is over! But not much longer and it will be summer break! WHOOP!

Friends Playdate!

Since we don't live close to some of my very best friends I decided to plan a play date for all of us to together while we were in PTC! It was SO much fun! There were 9 babies!!

I'm so glad I have these ladies in my life! We all met because of our sorority. The afternoon was filled with catching up in between playing with our kiddos! :)
