Phone on Silent...

Whew what a day!

I headed to work like normal this morning. I leave my house about 5:45 to arrive a few minutes before 6am. I know that's early but I get lots of work done and then I can leave on time in the afternoons. 

Well I only got about half way to work and my car died. I mean like turned off....no breaks...no power steering and I was going 55MPH. Thank goodness I was able to coast off an exit. 

I picked up my phone to call the Mr....well he had his phone on SILENT! ugh. I called and called and called. With no luck. Thankfully I was able to get picked up 45 minutes later. And another friend of mine went and woke the Mr. up by knocking on the door. I got to school in time...and I didn't let it ruin my day at all! ha!

TJH had his 6 month doctors appointment today. First one I wasn't able to attend. :( But the Mr. did a great job and even took a cute video! :) 

He lost some weight with being so sick and the doc telling us to hold off on solids while his blisters healed in his throat. So that kind of worried me but our doc said it was TOTALLY fine! He's in the 90th percentile for weight and 50th for height! He had two shots. :( But was so brave!  

Paper is so fun! :)

I got a ride home this afternoon and the Mr. headed to his first class of his second semester of grad school! 

Tucker and I had a fun afternoon together! We went on a walk with Ethel and then played! 

He also enjoyed a lot of sweet potatoes! :)

I love this boy so much! He makes life so much better! 

I didn't even get upset once or cry about my morning. It's funny how things change when you have a baby and it's not worth stressing over. I was safe and fine and at the end of the day it's just a car...

But lesson learned...turn your phone off silent! :)

Wonderful weekend!

The weather on this pretty Sunday morning is just awesome! I smell fall in the air! :)

We've had a great weekend! Still a few hours left in it too! 

Friday the Mr. headed to the lake to celebrate with his good friend J! He's getting married in September so they went to have his bachelor weekend!  

Looks like the weather was just perfect! I'm sure they had a blast! And the Mr. made a ton of yummy food before heading up!

Aunt K came to watch TJH for a couple hours between the Mr. leaving and me getting home from work! She did great! :)

Then later Friday afternoon Aunt LK came too! :) We headed out to Target. I had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket! So I picked up a couple of cute items! And then we headed to Mexican for dinner! YUMMY!

Saturday we all slept in! Well not me and TJH! ha! :) Then we ate lunch and then went and ran some errands! It's tax free weekend here. I needed to get to WalMart for some items and it was CRAZY! ha! But we got through it! 

Saturday evening we played with TJH and watched the Olympics...I am so sad they are almost over!

It was so nice to have my sisters here with me all weekend! I could have totally handled it alone but it's so much more fun when they are here! Being so much older than them didn't allow for many years at home when they could remember so I cherish the times we have together now! And I love how important TJH is to them! :) 

I did have a chance to get a few things done for my classroom this weekend which always make me feel more prepared for the week. My student teacher will be start coming on Tuesday and I'm very excited about that co-teaching experience. 

K wrapped a box for me for my students writing journals. She did an excellent job!

I'm thankful for wonderful weekend with my sweet baby boy and family! I'm one lucky girl!

Week 27

Dear Tucker,

You're first week being 6 months old! :) Mommy and Daddy can't believe that we have a 6 month old!

Sunday was spent trying to get you well. You still had a fever of 99-101.

We just played and rested. 

And then we headed out for some dinner! You loved listening to Mommy and Daddy talk during dinner! You even took your passy out to talk for a little bit too! :)

Even though you've been so sick you still have been smiling and laughing when you can! 

Monday morning you woke up at 3:30AM. Mommy knew you weren't feeling well. So Daddy took you back to the doc again. They had to draw blood. :(

Your doctor is just the best! He called Daddy personally Monday evening with the test results. Nothing new to report and he said that the Hand Foot Mouth Disease and ear infection were almost cleared. He said the fever was due now to a bad case of teething. We are just so thankful that it's nothing too serious!
Monday evening Mommy had Open House for school until early evening so we didn't get to spend much time together but we did have fun in the bath!

You enjoy playing with Daddy while Mommy is at work! And Daddy is so good at sending pictures!

 You love to play with your doggies! :)

You're doing better with solids this week. Your doc told us to take a break when you had the blisters on your throat but you are back to eating solids. You ate oatmeal for the first time and you liked it a lot better than the rice cereal. 

Wednesday was Mommy's first day with students!

You've enjoyed our evening walks! And we get home you are pretty warm so we let you play in just your diaper and you love it! 

You're sitting so good now! You only topple over occasionally now. :)

Daddy lets you watch a little bit of Elmo in the mornings and you LOVE it!

You enjoyed some quality time with Aunt K and LK! Shopping at Target is so fun!

Daddy got you a new teething ring! And you LOVE it!

Saturday morning play time with  Mommy is always fun!

Aunt K came and watched you for a couple hours because Daddy was going out of town and Mommy was still at work. She did a great job and you had so much fun with her!

All ready for bed on Saturday night! You didn't want to go to bed because you were afraid your Aunties would have fun without you. So Mommy let you stay up later to play with them! :)

Another wonderful week! We are glad that you are finally better and now the low fevers are just from teething. You are such a joy and even when you were so sick you were still so happy. We are excited about  spending the end of the summer and beginning of fall with you! SO many memories to be made! And we couldn't imagine doing it all without you now! :)

Back to School!

My fourth year has begun! Teaching that is! :)

I was so excited to meet them and get started on what I hope is a great year!

I've always had an ocean themed room and like to use bright colors because I don't use the overhead lights in my classroom. I use only lamps and natural sunlight. I believe that the classroom should be an inviting place where students feel comfortable. Also you might notice but I don't put useless posters on my walls. My students create things as the year goes on that are important to add to our walls. 

I found this on Pinterest and I thought it was perfect! No more candy for birthdays...SILLY straws! :)

For some reason this picture won't flip...but this is what I made for my students for Open House...it says "You're o-FISH-ally in 2nd grade!" Thanks to Pinterest for this cute little treat!

So in the past I've always used the stones in a jar for our class incentive. Well, thanks to Pinterst again we have a new way to earn our class reward! Once Mr. Potato Head is all put together we will have a class reward. This could be extra recess, lunch in the classroom, popcorn party, board game time, or anything else that the students come up with! :)

It's Wednesday!

  So what if....

• Today is the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL of my 4th year teaching!
• I finally got my hair cut...I hadn't gotten it cut since before Tuck was born...I've been a bit busy!
• I'm SO glad that we now know that Tuck is recovering from the ear infection and Hand Foot Mouth Disease...now it's just teething. 
• I'm so excited about getting to know my new students...I have a feeling that this will be a great year!
• I'm pumped about this upcoming weekend! WHOOP!
• I'm so sad that I missed out on last weekend with my best friends but TJH wasn't up to traveling with as sick as he was. 
• I love how Tucker says Mama! :)
• I'm ready to run...it's been WAY too hot!
• I'm enjoying the time between grad school classes!
