I am alive. I am sorry I've been a horrible blogger.



I've wanted to update so many times...but my bed time is 8:30pm. (I know that's early.) And everytime I get an extra few minutes it's usually spent with the Mr. :)



The Mr.'s sister got married this weekend...b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l. I promise I will share pictures soon. It was sunrise wedding...yes, it started at 6:40am but it was worth getting up early. :) They are now off honeymooning in Athens, Greece!



Tomorrow is Open House for my school...little nervous again. This is a big night. But I hope it will go smoothly. I have my outfit picked out and everything!



We met our "small group" last night! We are so excited about starting this new journey. We meet for the first time on Thursday evening! :) It seems as though the church did an excellent job with matching us up with some cool couples!

I found this on another blog and it' just funny! I read blogs before I go to bed, some as a nightly devotion(because I read Christian blogs) and some for a good laugh before I hit the sack! I came upon this last night and literally was laughing out loud in the bed by myself(that is because I go to bed at a really dorky time of 9:00pm!). Please enjoy!

Have you ever been walking down the street and realized that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk.

I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.

Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in America did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no Internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.

There is a great need for sarcasm font.

Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no clue what was going on when I first saw it.

The only time I look forward to a red light is when I’m trying to finish a text.
Was learning cursive really necessary?

Lol has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say".

Answering the same letter three times or more in a row on a Scantron test is absolutely petrifying.

How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said?

Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in' examples, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a complete idiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney and said "Yes that's G as in...(10 second lapse)..ummm...Goonies"

What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other?

While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.

MapQuest really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water.

Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning who just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!

If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspring would probably just be completely invisible.

Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from, this shouldn't be a problem....

My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day "Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?" How in the world do I respond to that?

I wonder if cops ever get annoyed at the fact that everyone they drive behind obeys the speed limit.

I think I can get the hang of this "working" thing! :)

I have been putting alot of hours into my job...like way more than I get paid for. And I'm totally okay with this. It only make me better at my job. But today it really seemed to click. I LOVE my job!

I get to teach children. I get to inspire them to do better. I get to help them achieve their goals and dreams.

Yes, they are going to misbehave and talk way too much. But I get to teach them things they may have not known that morning when they woke up.

Today was the first day that I left the school building at a "normal" time. It felt so good. But not just leaving at the "normal" time but leaving totally prepared for my next day.

Thank you for all of you that have been SOOO supportive throughout this whole experience with me. Especially to the Mr. because he's been there for me alot. :)

Thank you for those who believed that I could actually teach!

Her birthday was almost 2 weeks ago but it was the night before I started teaching so my blogging life went on hold! :)

L just got married at the beach. :) Went on a great honeymoon. :) Graudated with her Masters. :) And then had a birthday. :) Great month for Mrs. L!

-Take half my kids home so I don't worry about them when they aren't in my classroom.

-Go on a vacation with just the Mr.

-Teach everything I've planned in one day---there isn't enough time in the school day.

-Buy the Mr. a new car.

-Pay off all my student loans at one time.

-Live closer to my family and friends.

-Find a cure for cancer.

My VERY first day TEACHING!

YAY! I did it!!!

I had my very first day of school teaching! It was wonderful! All 29 of my students were there and we had a lot of fun doing the "get to know you's" and starting to learn our routines. The day went to smoothly!

It is very hard getting 29 students down the hallway in a line! :)

I promise I'll keep you updated with pictures and stories of my class!

Furlough...


What is a furlough day you might ask? Well, it's a day that you don't work and you don't get paid. Pretty simple right?



Well I wasn't even sure what they were until last week. But as many of you know most Georgia school systems had to put in place furlough days to save money.



Clarke County's(the county I work for)furlough days were yesterday and today and then one more day in October. Most counties lock the building so that the teachers can't go in, but thank goodness my county did not do this! Many of us came to work yesterday and many will come today...because umm....THURSDAY is the FIRST day of school!!!!!



So, I've heard ALOT of complaining about the furlough days. I can understand some of the frustration...but really?!?! We have JOBS! No one should complain about 3 days off of your normal pay...that is nothing compared to the people who don't even have jobs!



So I just wanted to say...I'm thankful for these nice quite furlough days in my classroom and I am SOOO thankful for my JOB! :)

P.S. The reason for the delay on the pictures of my classroom is that they have to hang my coat rack...so I haven't been able to hang anything on that wall in my classroom. I know you all are on the edge of your seat...but I think they said they would be hung today!! :)

One Year Anniversary!

Can you believe it?!?!?!

It's been one year since we said I DO!

This past year has been an amazing year for the both of us! We love marriage! We love being together all the time, we love cooking together, we love worshiping together, we love gardening together, we love diving together, we love walking Lucy together, we love experiencing new things as a married couple!!

Thank you to the friends and family who sent cards or called. :)

We kicked off Friday night with some celebration!! Eric cooked a low country boil and we ate our cake from a year ago!!! Also Eric got a video of our wedding made!! So we watched our wedding video together and laughed and cried!

Our cake was still SOOOO yummy!!!

Even added our cake topper back on for the event!

We were litter nervous that it wasn't going to taste good...but we were VERY wrong!

It was very good!!!

And SOOO moist!!

Some of our plans didn't turn out the way we hoped but it still was a great weekend!

Eric surprised me with a 5 HOUR cake decorating class today!!!! We went to the Viking Store in Atlanta and took a class from a CELEBRITY!!!! His name is Joshua and he's been on 9 of the Food Network Challenge shows!! And has won!!! He was awesome and taught us so many cool things!!! We actually learned how to assemble a cake and then decorate it!
