Week 25

Dear Tucker,

It's our last week of summer. So sad, but goodness it's been a great first summer with you!

We started our week out celebrating GiGi's 70th birthday at Honey's house.

Monday we rested in the morning...recovering from such a fun weekend! And then we headed to Bundles of Joy for the last time. :(

You enjoy eating cereal after your first nap in the late mornings. And you've started to stick your tounge out...it's so darn cute!

Tuesday we spent the morning at the pool with our great friend L...we took her lunch to celebrate her birthday. You loved splashing in the pool!

Tuesday evening Grandma R and Grandpa came into town! You were so excited to see them! We went to dinner and you were so good! But all the excitement wore you out!

Wednesday Mommy had to attend a workshop for work and Daddy had class so Grandma R and Grandpa watched you for a couple of hours.
You had a wonderful time with them!
Before Mommy left...glad we spent the morning together!
After work! SOO happy to be back home with you!

Thursday after Mommy got home from work I noticed that your eyes were really watery...this worried me. I took your temperature and it was 103.3...o no. Your very first fever. We called your Dr. and they just told us to give you med and watch you closely. It worried me so much. We gave you a cooler bath and just tried to keep you calm. You wanted to be held a lot. Which I didn't mind at all. We think it's caused from teething.

You slept pretty well for having a fever Thursday night. Your fever broke about 4:30AM. I woke up to your crying so I went in your room and you were on your tummy for the first time in your bed. Not sure if you were crying because of not feeling well or because you rolled over. :)

Friday morning we decided to call the doc again because your fever got back up to 102.

Mommy took you to the doc on Friday afternoon and found out you have Enterovirus. You have blisters in your throat and a high fever. Dr. G said you might get a rash on your chest area and he noticed a little bit of one. He said the only thing we could do to help you was give you Tylenol and Advil. He said it should be gone by Monday. He said this virus is common this time of year. We don't know where you go it, but we hope it goes away fast. You haven't wanted to eat much. Dr. G told us to make sure you had a least 3 wet diapers in a 24 hour period...which you've had.

You still are such a sweet boy even though you're pretty sick. You loved going to Publix with Mommy after your doc appt. You loved when I would push the stroller and then let go and clap three times...you laughed and squealed. :)

You slept pretty good Friday night. We are thankful that you're getting good rest.

Saturday you woke up with no fever. So we headed to our Saturday tradition..the farmers market! :) You loved strolling around.

When you woke up from your morning nap your fever was back. :( But you still were in a good mood.

Cool baths have been great for your fever. You love the bath anyway...so you just think it's play time! :)

You had your first banana on Saturday! :)
It was a great time to try something that might make you happy while feeling yucky. You loved the banana and kept saying yum yum yum while you were eating it. I love the mess tool so that you don't choke on a big piece.

We are praying you feel better super quick. We aren't upset that you want to be snuggled even more than normal.

Tucker, what a great last week of summer. We are sad that you got sick for the first time, but we have to say that it's a blessing that it took 25 weeks for your first sickness. You have such a sweet soul and I pray that it stays that way.

We love you so very much Tucker John!
